It was a great evening with a lot of very interesting people: Young gamers joined up with not-so-young veteran players, game developers and publisher overcame their differences and started chilling out, juniors learned from the seniors and even a famous team from Norway showed up to get an Award.
We didn’t organize much for this event and were (and are still) overwhelmed by the amount of people that showed up anyway. It seems that our test-run from last year convinced people to rather join us than the big BÄM-Award celebration somewhere in Cologne. Us, some freaks running around a boat club with silly hats, listening to game music and discussing about a dead genre. It was great to see that everyone enjoyed it. And that even users from Switzerland or Austria took 10 hours rides just to be on the party (and even decided to stay up with us the whole night to do our last podcast of the show) was amazing. These guys deserve our highest regards (and show what is possible, if you just decide to do it).
To me, again, this was prove that a great party can be achieved if you just bring together great people – and Adventure gamers just are great, interesting and very open-minded people. Most of you know this video already, as it was posted on Adventure-Treff.de some time ago. However, I did make a very quick and rough English translation, so the ones of you not able attending this great event know what you missed. Check it out:
Of course, there is also a german version of the video (with english subtitles) here.
Let’s see if we have the time to organize something similar next year. I guess, we now just have to.
