Foreseeable? I say yes. Why?

a) Most people forget media reality ≠ social reality. Signs of spiral of silence was all over the place. Media coverage does not work when this happens. Listen to sociologists or social-communication scientists instead of psephologists (same mistakes for those surprised by #BREXIT).

b) Signs of silent facism all over the US as well, started by frightening the whole country with a catastrophic event 15 years ago and let them deliberately never recover by keeping the fear of terrorism alive for egomaniacal political reasons. Beeing able of installing the largest surveillance state possible without opposition whatsoever should have been the largest warning sign – exceeding all other facist surveillances by far. Breeding ground for demagogues was prepared long ago. It’s nothing surprising for this country.

c) Yes, I’m Captain Hindsight.

No worries, the world will continue to exist. Personally, I’m even relieved just a little bit. We could have had an even worse demagogue for sure. Probably next election could have been worse. And Clinton is a warmonger, I don’t want as well. Let’s hope the 2-party-system is abolished soon for more peaceful political choices.

* Yes, to this point, it still could change. But it seems unlikely.

I’ll continue to call him Drumpf nevertheless. I’m not allowed to enter that country anyway. 😉
