Some more talks I highly recommend from last year’s 30C3 hacker congress:
The Exploration and Exploitation of an SD Memory Card: It’s not as technical as it sounds and highly entertaining. Did you know that the SD cards you were using actually have small micro chips on them? If not, watch this and you will be surprised how much you can do with memory cards everybody of us is utilizing on a daily basis!
In To Protect And Infect, Part 2: The militarization of the Internet Jacob Appelbaum, a US refugee stranded in Germany, talks about stuff the NSA and other secret services can do. Beware – this is a mindfuck. And better believe Jacob – he was frightening right about NSA surveillance long before Snowden came public.
Through a PRISM, Darkly – Everything we know about NSA spying is a good follow up to Jake’s talk by Electronic Frontier Foundation’s Kurt Opsahl with a picture of the door leading to the room where the NSA is copying the net. 😉
The Tor Network is interesting, too – as it’s less about the Tor Network itself but even more about general experiences of developers trying to build a tool to encrypt the internet and re-establish privacy.
If you understand German and are eager for even more bad new, Security Nightmares is the „same procedure like every year, Miss Sophie!“
Seeing The Secret State: Six Landscapes I already recommended some time ago.
